Students at the university must re-register for the second and each subsequent semester.
You re-register by transferring the semester fee to the account of Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences in due time.
You can re-register for the winter semester from 01.08. to 31.08. and for the summer semester from 01.02. to 28.02.

You can submit many applications online yourself on the ecampus student portal . Certificates of study, certificates for the BAföG office, etc. can be accessed and printed. Contact details such as the current address, email and telephone number can be changed independently. The status of the next re-registration is also displayed, as well as the fees to be paid.

Please inform the Enrolment and Examination Office of any changes to your address or name as soon as possible. You can make the changes yourself on ecampus .
You can apply for a leave of absence from your studies after the end of the first semester. Please submit your application by March 1st for the summer semester and by September 1st for the winter semester. A retroactive leave of absence can only be granted in exceptional cases with special justification.
You can take a leave of absence for up to two semesters without further justification. Leave of absence for more than two semesters can only be granted if you can provide evidence of special reasons. Leave of absence semesters are counted as university semesters but not as subject semesters. You cannot take any coursework or examinations during the period of leave of absence.
You can apply for exemption from the semester ticket for the period of leave of absence.
In the case of consecutive leaves of absence (without interruption), the administrative fee is only payable for the first semester of leave.
The leave of absence does not exempt you from the obligation to re-register. You can apply for this yourself on ecampus.
De-registration on application is possible at any time.
After registering for the thesis, no further re-registration is required if all other modules have already been successfully completed. In this case, you would be de-registered at the end of the semester of registration. In the event of further re-registration, you would be de-registered at the end of the current semester. If you would like a different date (e.g. the day of the colloquium if you continue to re-register), please contact your registrar in good time. Further information can be obtained from the Enrolment and Examination Office.
If you have de-registered, your semester fee will be refunded on a pro rata basis. To do this, you must complete the application for a refund of the semester fees and send it to the Enrolment and Examination Office.

The semester fee for enrolment/re-registration is EUR 343 from the summer term 2025. This fee must be transferred on time during the re-registration period in February for the summer semester and in August for the winter semester. After enrolment, the semester documents will be made available for download on ecampus. You will also receive access to the digital semester ticket via ecampus. If you do not re-enrol, you will be de-registered.

Part-time study enables students to attend the courses offered for their degree programme, which are designed for full-time study, on a part-time basis in accordance with their needs and in compliance with the applicable examination regulations. Part-time study is only authorised for good cause and must be applied for.
