PROMOS Programme to increase the mobility of students at German universities
PROMOS
As part of the PROMOS programme, various projects abroad can be funded worldwide, provided that there is no travel warning issued by the Federal Foreign Office for the country or region in question at the time of the stay.
Scholarship options
- At least 1 month up to maximum of 6 months
- Partial scholarship instalments and/or travel allowance
and/or tuition fees scholarship
- Stays for the preparation of final thesis are also eligible for funding if no regular courses are attended at a university
- Study visits to a university in the Erasmus+ area are only possible if there is no Erasmus+ cooperation for this subject area or for students for whom a further Erasmus+ stay abroad is ruled out

Application
Students who are planning a stay abroad in 2025 to expand their professional, linguistic, intercultural and social skills can submit their application documents for the PROMOS programme 2025 to the International Office/Outgoings department by 1 September 2024 for mobilities in the summer semester 2025 and by 1 March 2025 for mobilities in the winter semester 2024/2025. Please check beforehand whether the form of your stay abroad meets the eligibility criteria listed under ‘Funding opportunities’.
The following application documents are required:
1. PROMOS application form from Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences (please complete in full on your PC)
2. Letter of motivation
3. Curriculum vitae with photo
4. Current grade sheet (signed by the Enrolment and Examination Office)
5. Current study certificate
6. For study abroad programme only:
- Learning Agreement
- Confirmation from the host institution
7. For internship abroad only:
- Confirmation from the employer or the internship contract signed by both parties, stating the type of activity, the duration of the internship and, if applicable, the internship fee
8. Language certificate
9. Other relevant documents
