Background and goals
The aim of the approach presented is to develop an innovative production process that includes the utilisation of waste gases from the industrial partner. This is expected to result in a reduction of greenhouse gases by the industry. The microalgae act as biocatalysts and the waste gas is converted into valuable biomass. It is also planned to evaluate the utilisation of residual heat flows for drying microalgae biomass without losing the integrity of the valuable ingredients in the cell. This will make algae cultivation economically viable.
