Laboratory Marine Engineering
Room T02.01
In the laboratory marine engineering, experiments and projects are carried out by students. Nine laboratory spaces equipped with tools and measuring devices are available for this purpose. A small lathe, a milling drill stand and extensive hand tools are available in the adjacent workshop. Many constructions are currently being realized with our 3D printer.
For experiments in the projects we operate a current tank and a wave tank. Here new developments can be tested in the first use under observation. For observations in the sea we operate a remotely operated vehicle (ROV).
Marine Engineering Marine Energies
Laboratory
The laboratory marine engineering primarily supports project work of the study course maritime technologies. The focus here is on marine engineering and marine energies. For the tasks to be solved, the students have the tools at their disposal, which they learn how to use in the course of their studies. In the laboratory, the techniques learned are used in combination in order to successfully work on projects in a team.Marine Instrumentation
The laboratory marine engineering also lays the foundations for practical work in measurement technology in cooperation with the lectures on marine measurement technology and specialization on marine measurement technology.Marine Energies
Many energy sources that can be used to generate energy can be found in the ocean. Therefore, the ocean is considered to be one of the most important economic sectors of the future. The focus on marine energies deals with the harvesting of regenerative energies from the sea. The focus will be on the energies of the sea in the form of waves, currents and tides. But there is also enormous potential for energy in different salinity at river mouths and in the temperature differences between surface and deep water.
