Erasmus+ Programme
Erasmus+ is a programme of the European Union to promote education, youth and sport. Erasmus+ brings together previous EU programmes for lifelong learning, youth and sports, and the European cooperation programmes in higher education. The Erasmus+ programme contains three key actions:
- Learning mobility of individuals
- Cooperation for promotion and innovation and exchange of good practice
- Support for policy reform

- Support with the preparation of your stay abroad
- Academic recognition of academic achievements obtained abroad
- Reduction of tuition fees at the host university
- Financial support in terms of Erasmus+ funding
- Special grants for students with fewer opportunities
- Regular enrolment at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences
- Minimum of two semesters completed at Hochschule Bremerhaven (only applies to Bachelor students)
- Study visit at a partner university with which the HS Bremerhaven has concluded an Erasmus cooperation agreement (excluding Germany and country of permanent residence)
- Duration of stay: minimum 2, maximum 12 months
- The home and host universities must hold a valid Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE)
- Completion of a compulsory language test (OLS) before and after the stay abroad
- 01.03. for a semester abroad in the following winter semester or for the entire academic year
- 01.09. for a semester abroad in the following summer semester
The following funding rates apply to students and graduates from Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences for the project year 2022:
- Country group 1: Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden (600€ study abroad/ 750€ internship abroad)
- Country group 2: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain (540€ study abroad/ 690€ internship abroad)
- Country group 3: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Republic of Northern Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey (490€ Study Abroad/ 640€ Internship Abroad)
