As a student at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences, the ERASMUS+ programme gives you the opportunity to study at one of our European partner universities in order to expand your professional, social, and cultural skills. You will get to know the academic system of a partner university and benefit from its teaching and learning methods.

• Academic recognition of academic achievements obtained abroad
• Reduction of tuition fees at the host university
• Financial support in terms of Erasmus+ funding
• Special grants for students with fewer opportunities

• Regular enrolment at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences
• Minimum of two semesters completed at Hochschule Bremerhaven (only applies to Bachelor students)
• Study visit at a partner university with which the HS Bremerhaven has concluded an Erasmus cooperation agreement (excluding Germany and country of permanent residence)
• Duration of stay: minimum 2, maximum 12 months
• The home and host universities must hold a valid Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE)
• Completion of a compulsory language test (OLS) before and after the stay abroad

• 01.03. for a semester abroad in the following winter semester or for the entire academic year
• 01.09. for a semester abroad in the following summer semester

The following funding rates apply to students and graduates from  Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences for the project year 2022:

• Country group 1: Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden (600€ study abroad/ 750€ internship abroad)
• Country group 2: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain (540€ study abroad/ 690€ internship abroad)
• Country group 3: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Republic of Northern Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey (490€ Study Abroad/ 640€ Internship Abroad)

ERASMUS supports visiting lecturers at European partner universities that hold a valid Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE). The guest lecturers should strengthen the European dimension of the host university through their stay, complement its teaching offer and impart their expertise to students who do not want to or cannot study abroad.
Where possible, the development of joint study programmes between the partner institutions should play a role, as should the exchange of teaching content and methods.
Staff mobility must take place in a programme country that is not the country of the sending HEI and not the main country of residence of the person taking part.

Teaching stays within Europe last between two days and two months (excluding travel time); the teaching load is at least eight hours per stay or per week or part thereof. If teaching is combined with further education and training, the teaching load is reduced to 4 hours per week.

The following groups of people are eligible for funding:
 

• Professors and lecturers who have a contractual relationship with the higher education institution
• Lecturers not receiving an endowment
• Lecturers with contracts for work and services
• Emeritus professors and retired lecturers
• Research assistants

The financial support for Erasmus mobility for teaching purposes or for further education and training is based on the varying costs of living in the destination countries.
In the project years 2021 and 2022, the following fixed daily rates apply for Germany for four country groups up to the 14th day of stay; from the 15th to the 60th day of stay, the funding amounts to 70% of the daily rates mentioned:

• Country group 1 (180€ per day): Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden
• Country group 2 (160€ per day): Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain
• Country group 3 (140€ a day): Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Northern Macedonia, Turkey
• Partner countries (180€ per day)
