Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences has a new digital home
Clear structure and fresh design make the website target group friendly
Anyone interested in studying at Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences, looking for a new job in research, teaching or administration, or wanting to find out about current research projects, can now find all the important content at a glance. With its new website, the University has focused on its target groups and provides all relevant information in a clear, well-structured manner and in the new corporate design. In particular, the changed user behaviour of internet users was taken into account in the design. The website can still be accessed at www.hs-bremerhaven.de.
"Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences claims to be a modern and progressive educational and scientific institution. This modernity is now also reflected in our website. I hope that in this way we can not only communicate our enthusiasm for teaching and research to the outside world, but also engage and inspire visitors to our website. Behind the new look and feel of our website are an incredible number of hours of work, a lot of commitment and know-how, including the introduction of the content management system Pimcore. Ultimately, it is the work in secret that gives the visible its quality," says Rector Prof. Dr. Dr. Alexis Papathanassis.
Together with the Bremen-based digital group team neusta, the relaunch team of the "univerity by the sea" analysed the wishes of its main target groups and worked out their information needs and user behaviour. The results have been directly incorporated into the design. "Instead of reflecting the structure of the university to the outside world, as it was previously, we are focusing on the needs of all target groups with our new web presence. Together with the departments and degree programmes, we have therefore revised and completely restructured the previous content. The website is now designed in such a way that users can find the information they are looking for more quickly and in a topic-related manner," says Head of Marketing Tatjana Lovre. Aspects of barrier-free access were also taken into account in order to enable all people to access the content. In addition, the website is optimised for mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets, and thus adapts to the changing behaviour of internet users.
Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences has had a new corporate design since April 2022. For this, the agency EIGA Strategic Brand Design took the results from the mission statement process, formulated a strategic mission statement together with university members and expressed it in a modern brand design with a new logo. "The design concept behind the new brand identity is 'New Horizons'. The logo and signet were also developed from this, which is based on the sunrise over the horizon and thus stands for enthusiasm, aspiration, progress and development," says Lovre. The new corporate design also aims to improve the university's recognisability and thus strengthen the overall brand, he added. "We are pleased that we found two really great and competent partners in the agency EIGA and team neusta, who accompanied us with their expertise in this process and brought us forward," says Lovre.
