For 36 years, the former Head of the Department of Budget and Finance shaped the university on its way to becoming a modern centre of teaching and research

Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences mourns the loss of Mrs Jutta Wolfgramm, who worked for us for almost 36 years before retiring in 2012 on reaching retirement age. Mrs Wolfgramm accompanied the university from its beginnings as a very manageable unit to a significantly grown, modern centre of teaching and research with a wide range of tasks. Hired as a budget officer in 1976, Mrs Wolfgramm took over the management of the then established Department of Budget and Finance in 1999, whose work she shaped over many years with her expertise and conscientiousness. She faced the numerous challenges arising from the development of the university with great commitment and dedication to her area of specialisation. She played a key role in the introduction of commercial accounting and laid the foundations for the accounting management of the constantly growing volume of third-party funding, particularly for research at our university. In doing so, she relied on her excellent specialist knowledge as well as her great conscientiousness and attitude and, last but not least, her enormous knowledge of the university, its structures and its people. Her commitment to the Department of Budget and Finance and her efforts to introduce new procedures and systems have left a lasting mark and will be appreciated long after her death.
Mrs Wolfgramm will not only be remembered as an expert colleague, but also as a strong personality who always stood up for her convictions and was passionate about her work.
